What is Boudoir Photography?

Boudoir Photography is a beautiful mix of fashion and portrait photography. The word 'Boudoir' originates from a French word meaning a woman's private salon. Boudoir photo sessions are about celebrating your sensuality and are generally intimate in nature. Boudoir photography can be sweet, delicate and subtle or moving more to the extroverted, racy side of capturing images... as with all photography, there are no limits to creativity!

Boudoir Photography is a wonderful way to explore your inner self or take a step outside the box and create images that show the 'Inner You' we all have. Many times it is a journey of self discovery and can be very liberating and be a great confidence booster. Having said that, it can be intimidating to get in front of a camera... even for 'regular' portraits. So, working with an experienced photographer who loves people, loves what they do and loves to create will put you at ease very quickly; you'll be surprised at just how quickly you start to enjoy the session and actually have a great sense of self and are excited to see the end results.

Things that help put you at ease are discussing and becoming comfortable with what will happen during the photo session; preparing what clothing & accessories to wear, what make up look to have, how to pose and, of course, what kind of images you want out of your session.
